Chestnut Pudding Recipe I
Ingredients:
1 lb chestnuts
1 c milk
Pulp
Apple-flavored sauce
Currant-jelly
Juice from a lemon
Instructions:
Have chestnuts boiled. remove their shells & skins. Combine w/ milk then heat ’til boiling. Remove once chestnuts are tender then rub them through colander.
Thinly spread pulp over buttered mold then top w/ apple-sauce layer mixed w/ currant-jelly. Top again w/ chestnuts then w/ apple-sauce.
Squeeze juice of lemon all over. Bake pudding in moderately-heated oven. You turn platter out then served w/ whipped-cream mixed w/ jelly.
